Mitchell Sloan

Mitchell Sloan is aN AWARD winning multi-instrumentalist/music producer/Media composer from Sydney, Australia.

Mitchell has an undying passion for composing original music…

With nearly 20 years experience in music production and songwriting, and over a decade of experience in composing for films, commercials and editorials, Mitchell has developed an impressive catalogue of work which has been recognised all around the world. 

His passion for music developed at a young age, and was nurtured at The McDonald College, exploring avenues in acting, musical theatre, dance and visual arts, but majoring in music (performance and composition). It is here that Mitchell also studied and completed AMEB Musicianship.

Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), recognised his talent in 2011 as a performer and offered him a position at their Summer Program as a drummer. He was mentored by Dave Mattacks (occasional drummer for Elton John), and Vinx Mon (Percussionist for Sting).

His percussion talent was also recognised domestically as he was appointed Principle Percussionist of The Sydney Youth Flagship Orchestra from 2011-2014, and a section position in The Sydney Symphony Sinfonia in 2014. 

Mitchell studied Orchestral Percussion formally at The Sydney Conservatorium Of Music where he nurtured his love of orchestral music, and gained a deeper understanding of the many forms of composition. Here, he had the pleasure of working with Daryl Pratt, Synergy Percussion, Richard Miller and various internationally renowned musicians. During this period, Mitchell did some TV composing experience with Stephen Rae on the hit series 'Puberty Blues', and worked more and more on his own scores too.
 
 

After working a few years post-university scoring numerous films and editorials, Mitchell taught Composition at The McDonald College. During this time, Mitchell and his colleague Luke Fuller founded GOYA - a recording/post-production studio in Five Dock. The pair have been collaborating and working together on various projects since that time - albums, EPs, Singles, Films, Ads, Editorials, etc. and went on to found MEOW XX - a project founded on experimentation and beauty.

In the last few years, Mitchell has worked on lots of music in the Fashion world, a few feature film scores, a theatre score, ad music, music publishing with ECHO ROMEO, and two VIVD SYDNEY scores.

Currently, he plans to be in Paris by mid October 2026 to explore the music scene in Europe and the UK.
